[EmergingEthnoNetwork] Re: Oceans2012 job

Vincent,
Thank you for your message, it certainly caught my attention.

I don't write to argue or present a justification for sending the job announcement, but I will surely state that most of the announcements are forwarded without thoroughly looking at the applications.

If it sounds decent and comes from a relatively known institution, then we just forward. Checking every application would be too time consuming.

While it is strange and even an invasion to intimacy to ask this sorts of questions on a job application, I don't see direct discriminatory practices, but I do see an alarming intromission n on the part of the employer.

I guess it is up to the people interested in specific jobs to check out the applications, and if they are kind enough, just like you did, they will let the INEE know about the difficulties and/or inconsistencies found throughout the applications.

Thank you, I applaud your letter and encourage everybody to warn us when similar situations arise.

Nemer.
