I am pleased to let you know that registration for the ISE Workshop, entitled "Old treasures in the new Europe: the future of ethnobiology in the East and Far East", is now open.As there is a limit on number of participants, brief application material is required (see below). The workshop will reflect special emphasis on the ethnobiology of former communist Eurasia. Scholars conducting research in these countries are especially encouraged to participate. The idea of the workshop is to share an overview of the current ethnobiological research ongoing in the region, and to establish an interdisciplinary research network that may in future lead to joint research, publications, and projects. Where: Padise, Harjumaa, Estonia When: 15-17 October 2010 Registration now open (through August 1): As part of the registration, please submit your expression of interest, a one-page CV and a 300-word abstract about your current research in ethnobiology to renata@folklore.ee and raivo.kalle@mail.ee as soon as possible, but not later than August 1, 2010. The final registration will be done online (details will be provided later). The registration fee for the workshop is 100 EUR, which covers food and accommodations in the tourist farm during the workshop and transportation to and from Tallinn and the site of the workshop. Please see the Workshop website for more details!
