Getting to Know Bhutan: The Highest...

The highest…
mountain of Bhutan and  unclimed mountain in the World is the Gangkar Puensum, "Three brothers of the white mountain” or "White Peak of the Three Spiritual Brothers” (1), with the elevation of 7,570 m (24,836 ft). Gangkar Puensum is part of the Great Himalaya and close to the border of China.

"Since 1994 climbing of mountains in Bhutan higher than 6,000 metres has been prohibited out of respect for local spiritual beliefs, and since 2003 mountaineering has been forbidden completely” (2).
