The International Forum on Food and Culture

(IFFC 2011)

Osaka University, Japan

 

Call for Papers and Conventioneers

(Submission Deadline: 20th January, 2011)

 

 

Food safety is becoming an important global and regional issue with the quick globalization process. In order to promote the international cooperative research in this field, China Agricultural University and Osaka University are planning to hold an international forum, intending to offer a platform of gathering experience and intelligence for those who have interest in it and want to do something for it.

 

The forthcoming forum organized by China Agricultural University and Osaka University focuses on the food and cultural themes. The forum advocates concerning about the food and its intrinsic link with cultures, encouraging the strengthening of cooperation between humanities' and social sciences' research on food issues, promoting the conversation between natural science and humanities, developing a more extensive and in-depth knowledge prospect.

 

The organizers will hold an international forum in Beijing on March 17-18th, 2011 and are now calling for papers (or abstracts) of any disciplines on food or ecological culture from scholars and professionals. More details are as follows:

 

I.     Topics: any topics that are concerned with food or ecological culture in China or other countries. Some suggested topics are as follows:

      1. Food safety and rural community

      2. Environment, disease, health and food

      3. Food modernization and changes of dietary structure in rural China

      4. Globalization and food culture

      5. Industrialization, food safety and modernity

      6. GMF and material culture

       

 

¢ò. Submission details£º

1.    The submitted paper (or abstract) should include (in order): paper title; abstract (about 200 words), key words (3 to 5 words), main body, references. If an abstract submitted, it should contain at 500-800 words stating the research purpose and objectives, research methods and major findings, theoretical development or contribution.

2.    Authors' details: Please use a separate sheet for these details: the names of the author(s), the contact author (if different from the first author), affiliation, professional titles, postal address, zip code, phone number, email, etc., together with a brief introduction of the author(s).

3.    Language: papers written in either Chinese or English are all acceptable.

¢ó. Forum Proceedings and Publication

1.    Those who submit papers are welcome to attend the forum in Beijing on March 17-18th, 2011. The board and lodging expenses are provided by the organizers. Scholars only pay their travel expenses.

2.    Academic committee will be organized to evaluate and select submitted papers. The selected papers will be collectively published after the forum proceeding.

3.    Excellent papers will be recommended to Journal of China Agricultural University (in Chinese).

All papers (or abstracts) should be submitted before 20th January, 2011
