I am looking for a young, motivated person willing to develop a PhD at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain.

The 3-year PhD fellowship (14,000 Euros/year approx.) will focus on analysing the effectiveness and equity implications of carbon and biodiversity offsets in Mexico, informed by qualitatitve and quantitative methods.

The candidate should have an undergraduate in environmental sciences, geography, development studies or economics, as well as an MSc in a related discipline. She/he must speak Spanish (even if basic) and write and speak English very competently. The candidate should ideally have fieldwork and publication experience in the topic of the fellowship, and skills in software such as NVivo and/or SPSS/Stata. She/he will work in a team involving another post-doctoral researcher and myself, and will be integrated into the international project INVALUABLE, funded by the BIODIVERSA programme (http://www.biodiversa.org/118).
