Subject: SfAA panel on seed-saving and agrobiodiversity?
To: EANTH-L@listserv.uga.edu
Hello all,
I am submitting an abstract for the SfAA about the complications in
organizing seed-saving and farmers' rights networks in Central and
Eastern Europe, where the combination of Soviet centralized
seed-production, EU marketing laws and the lure of shiny new seed
packets has led to large-scale genetic erosion and low levels of
activism on intellectual property rights on seeds. I was curious if
anyone else is working on seed-saving issues in different contexts and
would be interested in submitting a panel
together? I know it's very last minute, but please respond asap if you
are interested in coordinating, so we can submit by Friday evening.
Thanks!
Guntra
