Cheers, Hugo Biocultural Diversity: Concepts and Interdisciplinary Methods with special focus on Local Peoples and Migrants in Europe A two week intensive course in research design and field methods in Biocultural Diversity studies, which examine the links between cultural and biological diversity, and how human society has shaped and is shaped by the landscape and biosphere The course will be held at the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technologies, Autonomous University of Barcelona, between Feb 27 and March 12, 2011. Open to: Masters and Doctoral Students from Partner Universities (Planning to conduct field research in 2011 or soon after; in most aspects of human-environment relationships in developing or developed countries, including Ethnobiology, Ethnobotany, Human Ecology, Environmental Anthropology and Sociology, Geography, Political Ecology; can be either European or non-European area focus) Partners: University of Kent (UK), Wageningen University (NL), Autonomous University of Barcelona (ES), Uppsala University (SE), University of Natural and Applied Sciences (AT), Tallinn University (ET), Aarhus University (DK), Ludwig Maximilian University (DE), Ghent University (BE), Oxford University (UK) Tuition Free: Students registered at partner universities will receive a daily stipend to use for food and accommodations and 90% of travel costs will be reimbursed.
