Dear ethnobiologists working in Eastern Europe and Central/Northern Asia,
We invite you to attend the 2nd Meeting of Ethnobiologists working in
Eastern Europe and Central/Northern Asia (Padise-Group) to be held
near Pécs, South Hungary, October 14-16th 2011. The workshop will
reflect special emphasis on the ethnobiology of former communist
Eurasia. Scholars conducting research in these countries are
especially encouraged to participate. The idea of the workshop is to
share an overview of the current ethnobiological research ongoing in
the region, to discuss methodologies and methods, and to establish an
interdisciplinary research network that may in future lead to joint
research, publications, projects.
Registration (April 1. – July 1. 2011): As part of the registration,
we will ask for a one-page CV and a 300-word abstract about your
current research in ethnobiology.
Cost: the meeting will be as low cost as possible (but with a nice
venue out in the landscape, with local meals, etc.). (Pécs – the
cultural capital of Europe in 2010 - can be reached by intercity
trains from Budapest.)

Friday, October 14: individual presentations reflecting participants'
own works and plans
Saturday, October 15: discussions on methodologies and methods used in
ethnobiology
Sunday, October 16: brainstorming and discussion on future cooperation
